The XIX International Botanical Congress (IBC 2017), co-organized by Botanical Society of China and Shenzhen Municipal Government, is scheduled to be held in Shenzhen City, China from July 23 to 29, 2017. It is the first time for such a high-level and prestigious meeting to be held in the developing country, which is of great significance to the plant science community for both China and the world.

 

The organizing committee of IBC 2017, presided by Drs. Wei-hua Wu and Qin Xu, was established on October 21, 2014 in Shenzhen city. It consists mainly of Honorary Presidents, Presidents, Secretaries-General and the Congress Secretariat in accordance two specific committees (the Advisory Committee and the Scientific Program Committee) to fulfill different obligations for the Congress.

 

On behalf of the Congress organizing committee, the Secretariat started the official invitation in February. After several rounds of invitation, 43 and 47 scientists from 12 countries across the world agreed to serve as the board members of the Advisory Committee and the Scientific Program Committee respectively.
